The English Premier League season is only a couple of weeks old, but newly promoted Burnley has already pulled off what may be the biggest upset of the season in all of European soccer. In their first home game at the top level of English soccer in 33 years, Robbie Blake scored early in the game and Burnley held on to upset reigning league champions Manchester United before 20,000 jubilant fans at their Turf Moor home pitch.

The Clarets were putting good pressure on Man U goaltender Ben Foster early in the game, and Blake made their effort pay at the 18 minute mark when he scored on a near post volley. That was the only score of the game, despite the best efforts of the visitors who seemingly awoke from their slumber at this point and began to put the pressure on the Burnley upstarts.

Still, Burnley would hold the advantage on the big scoreboard at the end of the game thanks to the steady play of their netminder Brian Jensen who withstood the Man U onslaught to preserve the historic victory. Afterwards, Burnley manager Owen Coyle commended Man U general Sir Alex Ferguson with his graciousness in defeat:

“Sir Alex dealt with defeat in the gracious manner I would expect of someone like that. He is the best manager in world football and I still expect Manchester United to be champions.”

Burnley has been the favorite to be relegated back to the Champions League, and they looked like they didnt belong after a 2-0 opening game loss to Stoke City. Coyle addressed the teams critics in his postgame comments:

“One or two have already written us off. I am not surprised about that. When you look at the financial side, we will have to produce every week. Outside this club, everybody looked at our first five games and expected we would be on zero points. We were disappointed on Saturday and we needed to be brave this time. Now we have a massive game on Sunday against Everton, although whatever happens we are three points better off than we were at this stage in the Championship last season.”

Sir Alex Ferguson conceded that his team didnt play well, but wasnt about to minimize Burnleys victory:

“It was a bad performance considering the chances and possession we had. Maybe if we had got the penalty just before half time it would have made a difference but in saying that we were too frivolous with the chances we had. It has been a long time out of the top flight for them and you cannot deny them their victory.”

Burnley will host Everton this weekend and Manchester United will hit the road to face Wigan at DW Stadium.

Endorphins are the key to happiness and exercise is the key to releasing those endorphins.

Normally every child will have access to physical activities such as sports at school but it is vital for their development in order for them to grow healthily and live happily.

As a result, sports are a terrific physical outlet for children. They should get involved in different sports as early as they can growing up. While their favorites will be ultimately up to them, I’d like to suggest that you start out with soccer as early as you can.

Kids love to play soccer and it has a whole host of benefits for the child physically and mentally, which I intend to cover a little in this article.

To begin with, soccer can help to build a good sense of balance in your child when you consider that the game is all about leg action, but it can also promote hand eye coordination and train them to know how to react fast in a given situation.

Soccer often involves quite a bit of running and general moving about the field and as a result will help to build muscles strength within your child’s legs as well as stomach and back. Not just the running but the kicking and dribbling all help to use muscles that wouldn’t normally get much use from walking alone.

Playing soccer as with any team sport will promote your child’s ability to interact socially. They will learn skills such as cooperation and leadership that will carry over into other areas of their lives and make them better at their jobs or at fitting in with new crowds.

Having said that, I would definitely recommend choosing soccer as a sport for your young ones if you’re in the process of deciding. There’s a very good chance that you’ll be glad you did.

Choosing a football boot for juniors is important and you should take the time to consider all the options. Depending on the type of player they are and how much protection they offer the juniors feet. Many juniors will also want the football boot worn by their favourite player. There are a lot of boot shops where you can try on the boots and this is advisable. You can always log back onto the internet and purchase them after if they are cheaper online. It is also quite handy to read reviews of the boots online and a good website should have user reviews.

Taking a look at the Nike brand they have different boots for different sorts of players and what you want your boot for. The Total 90 boots are for power and accuracy and they are good for shooting. Perfect for a striker. The Vapour range are light and great for dribbling. For juniors it maybe better to get strong boots such as the Total 90 to protect your junior.

Adidas offer the F50 range which is a light boot. They are worn by a lot of the top footballers including Lionel Messi. These are built for speed and are suitable for wingers. They also have the revolutionary sprint skin which is very light.

When you have chosen your boots from a boot shop and have tried them on it maybe worthwhile to go home and check online. You may be able to get them cheaper online and there are many reputable retailers online who stock the latest boots and have reviews from real people.

Once you have bought your new junior football boot it is important that they are broken in. New boots can be unforgiving when they are used for the first few weeks. It is not a good idea to wear them in any competitive game. One way of breaking them in is to soak in warm water. You can also introduce the boots gradually during training and always have your old boots in hand so you can swap maybe 20 minutes after. A good coating of Vaseline inside will ease the friction against your skin and will make blister less likely.

You can see reviews on the latest Junior Football Boots from top brands.

On May 2, 1975 a legend was born. That is the day David Robert Joseph Beckham, an Englishman now playing for Real Madrid and the English National Soccer team, entered the world. His illustrious career started when he was just seventeen.

Born in London, England. A kitchen fitter and hairdresser David Edward Alan Ted Beckham is his father. Although David Beckham’s grandfather was Jewish and David has said he had a large impact on his life, he himself does not follow any faith. As he grew up he was a massive fan of Manchester United, likely because his father was.

Beckham was first brought to the attention of professional football when he won a talent competition by FC Barcelona. He played as a youngster for his fathers team, Ridgway Rovers. The first club he played for was Tottenham Hotspur. He trained with Manchester United’s youth training scheme and the Bradenton Preparatory Academy.

In 1992, he made his father’s favorite team, Manchester United, playing as a substitute. His first professional deal was signed soon afterward. In August of 1996, David Beckham shot to stardom after scoring a magnificent goal against Wimbledon. During the England vs. Moldava match in 1996, he made his first World Cup appearance. That’s when he was voted Player of the Year by the PPA Young. He also played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He played every game and his team advanced to the finals against France. Unfortunately, he was not at his best during this tournament. He fell from grace, with supporters and the press alike turning him, blaming him for the loss to France. Later, his Adidas campaign told the story of this period, including the death threats he received.

During 1998-99 Manchester United won the FA Cup, Champions League and Intercontinental Cup. Beckham playing a large role in these victories. Except for the 1998 World Cup fiasco, Beckham largely remained a much loved England Soccer player, treating fans to many impressive goals and great all round match performances. He has always been loved by Manchester United fans after helping the team to many championships. David Beckham managed to win the titles ‘European Footballer of the Year’ and ‘FIFA World Player of the Year’ in 1999. Euro 2000 brought back old memories when poor performances by the England team rekindled criticisms, although David Beckham continues to be a huge force in Soccer, although leaving the England national team for a short spell currently Beckham is still representing his country in world soccer.

It has come to my attention, that there are loads of sports gambling legends round the web now days! Everyone seems to be just blurting stuff out, without even seeing if his / her information is legit.

Truth : Completely wrong! It is a common misconception that all sports bettors are gamblers and they loose. By pro I mean, they depend on statistical and fundamental criteria, and bet exactly according to their system.

There is no guessing! There are no feelings concerned, no feelings, no regrets! Nada! Nothing! Pro Sports Bettors have learned to trust the mechanical system and leave the feelings and feelings at the door. This makes them matching to the modern Foreign exchange and Stock Brokers! Just like they can forecast the unpredictable market, the sports bettor can forecast the unpredictable game! My private opinion is that it’s even better to foretell a game than the market.

Myth : You can make lots of money from nothing in Sports Betting!

Can you see the picture?

It takes money to make money! It is important that your risk % is something insignificantly little. Begin with $100 and join the other 95% of the loosing bettors! Do not believe me? Be at liberty to try!

Myth : you have got to be right the bulk of the time to make a profit! Plenty of internet services making a claim to be 80%-100% correct with their picks!

Truth : Let me answer the second part first! Such high %s are pure crap and you must scratch them off immediately! Is it possible? Yes for a weekend or a month, but in the longer term, no freaking way you can reach such a high rate! With such a high rate you would not even be selling picks, you would just bet hot on your own!

What p.c. Would you like to have to be correct to break even? Right around 33.3% and you would break even.

Hopefully, now you would get a much clear picture, what sports gambling is all about! It takes patience, information, self-discipline and common logic to succeed! All these virtues are vital, they separate the winners from the losers.

There’s been a great debate recently regarding the Thierry Henry hand ball situation against Ireland. Many people believe that Thierry Henry should have been punished for this move in the World Cup qualifying match that will send France to South Africa, while Ireland goes home, shattering their goals of playing in the 2010 World Cup. Well, a decision has been made and Henry is off the hook.

I was really hoping that Ireland would win, but I agree with FIFA in the decision they made regarding this matter. Over the past few months, I’ve been chatting with many friends about this matter and we’ve come up with some great comparisons that help make this extremely clear.

Take any other sport, for example Michael Jordan and basketball. If MJ traveled during a big game that led to a game winner (knowing he did this), there would be absolutely no chance he would be penalized in any way. There’s a team that would get the blame and that’s the team of the referee’s. This wouldn’t be MJ’s fault, things happen during games!

FIFA came to the decision that this play ball Henry doesn’t deserve any punishment. They couldn’t find any legal wrong doings by Henry, which would allow FIFA to punish him. In my opinion, the refs should deal with this before Henry. I know if I didn’t do my job right, I may have to deal with some punishment!

It would have been a shame to see a superstar of Henry’s caliber on the sidelines during the World Cup this summer. The punishment he was facing could have kept him out of the World Cup for several games. This is the most elite soccer tournament in the World and it would not be the same without his presence.

I’ve played in many competitive soccer games over the years at the NCAA level. There were some heart-breaking calls against my team and for my team. The only person we could blame was the ref. It’s all a part of the game.

Ireland put in a request to FIFA to replay this match, but I knew this wouldn’t happen. They can’t turn the call over at this point, so that means that can’t find a reason to replay the game. Some people would like to see FIFA develop a review system, but that could really ruin the flow of a game. There are other options, like the addition of a ref on the end-lines which I think is a better solution.

As a soccer player, I’ve witnessed many sneaky tactics during games and have pulled some off myself. This is all a part of the game, although some may say it’s bad sportsmanship. I hate to see what Henry did determine the outcome of the game (and more), but again, it’s part of the game. He took a chance of getting a card!

If you are thinking of picking up a pair of Adidas Indoor Soccer Shoes that are value priced, durable and well crafted, then check out the latest collection of Adidas shoes that are available.

There are several great models that include the Adidas F30, Samba, Copa Mundial, F10 and the Adipure Indoor.

When considering the points of quality, price, durability and craftsmanship, I would conclude that indoor soccer shoes from Adidas deliver an excellent value for the money. They are a wise investment from the company that is the choice of champions.

The styles from the brand that I like best are the Adidas Samba Millennium edition and the Adidas Absolado Indoor Soccer shoes.

There are several net shops that offer deals that are usually much better than what you would pay at your local shopping mall. So when you are ready to buy, it is highly recommended that you take a few minutes and do a search on the web first.

Searching on the net allows you the opportunity to easily compare prices, so you can be sure that you are getting the best possible deal for your money.

One of the benefits of net shopping is that you can locate those hard to find or even rare models of indoor soccer shoes from Adidas that are not available in your area.

Cost:

If you are thinking about buying them at your town’s sporting goods dealer or a department store, you should expect to pay around $59 or more, depending upon the particular model. For web shoppers, values can be found on the net for up to 50% off of retail.

Company:

Adidas is known worldwide as the brand with the 3 stripes. The company is publicly held and has its origins in Herzogenaurach, Germany. It was founded by Adolf Dassler in 1924. Adidas is most famous for their shoes, and they also manufacture sportswear, toiletries and sports equipment. Their products can be purchases at their company owned boutique shops and in better department stores located all over the globe.

Hey, buy Adidas Indoor Soccer Shoes on sale.

As a goalie myself, I know how important it is to have the right gear when you’re playing in net. I’ve always been the goalie who loved the newest equipment and always stayed on top of the latest trends. I would usually follow the trends of the pro goalies and then wait for Christmas! In this article I’ll share some of the different options available for a goalie gloves today.

The first thing you should do is determine the purpose of the gloves. Do you want them for training purposes, for bad weather, for games only or do you need some sort of extra protection? Also figure out your budget and I always recommend figuring out your size if you can find a local soccer shop not too far away.

After all the years of playing goalie, I’ve realized my favorite brand for goalie gear is Uhlsport. I haven’t used them for anything else besides gloves, but their gloves are all superb. Their top of the line glove is the Uhlsport Cerberus Bionik Goalkeeper Glove and it’s meant for match play only.

The Uhlsport goalie glove is made with their patented grip foam. It’s extremely durable, yet it remains soft and thick. It provides great protection for the fingers as well as it’s designed to imitate the human hand, which is supported by flexible spines. These Uhlsport goalie gloves are pricey, but they’re the best it gets. They can be purchased at soccer.com for $169.99. If you’re only using them during match play, they could easily last you a couple of seasons.

The next option is a more affordable pair made by Reusch. This is another brand that specialize in soccer goalie gear. The goalie gloves are called the Reusch Raptor R1 Ortho-Tec Glove and are great on hard ground and indoor surfaces. It’s made with a thick foam and also has a soft latex backhand. This includes the finger spines to protect from any injuries to your fingers as well.

These Reusch gloves are priced at $99.00 on soccer.com. They’re also great for match play and high level practice sessions. If this is in your budget, this is one of the best overall gloves you’ll find. I’ve had very good luck with them and the reviews are always great.

As you get under $100 for goalie gloves, there will definitely be a few noticeable differences. The overall support quality decreases, so the cushion and foam won’t be as thick. Since they’re not as thick, they won’t last as long. You may also lose the support in the fingers, with spine protectors behind each finger. So I always recommend spend a little extra on a great pair of game gloves!

I hope this has helped you understand a few options available for soccer goalie gloves and good luck finding your new pair!
